Captured Policemen are forced under the threat of death to mutilate the already dead bodies of killed policemen and throw them into the pit which was then filled with garbage by the Croats. Two months after the massacre UNPROFOR enabled the extraction of the Serbian policemen bodies and transfer to the Serbian side. How much the bodies were mutilated is best illustrated by the fact that pathologists could not assemble a single body.
What happened on June 21. 1992 in Miljevacki Plateu should enter the records of the Serbo-Croatian conflict as the most inhuman act of crime against man. For the preparation of the action by the Croatian army, even children were used, since the International Children's Festival should begin in Sibenik that day. "Veritas" states that Croatian soldiers made a video of the crime in Miljevacki plateau , which was immediately after the event, as a kind of horror movie, rented out to various clubs across Europe.
On this occasion, the Croatian side has asked the Serbian side to refrain from provocations only to that same morning ruthlessly attack Serbian positions. About this event members of the Security Council informs Secretary-General Boutros Boutros-Ghali.
The twenty-first of June the Croatian army attacked the positions of Serbian territorial defense Miljevacki plateau near Drnis, in the pink zone, south of Sector South and advanced several kilometers. Advancing Croatian army, deliberately done under the guidance of two brigades, was the second in a row that has happened in this area during the last month. Both are in violation of the Sarajevo Agreement of June 2, 1992. Against this a protest was made by UNPROFOR and ECMM who requested the withdrawal of Croatian forces to the previous line of conflict.
Security Council made resolution number 762, and the Croats, of course, did not withdraw. A sad epilogue to this perfidious attack, which, as we have seen, was played in front of the eyes of the UNPROFOR. 40 killed Serbian Police officers, several wounded and captured, and the only Serbian village in the area Nos Kalik, were destroyed and burned to the ground, some of the people killed and others interned at Prvić, then Obonjan in the Sibenik archipelago
Upon completion of the military action, Croatian soldiers begins their bloody rampage. They, instead of giving the dead bodies to their respective families, ordering the few Serbian prisoners, under the threat of death, to throw them into the Kraska pit in the area of Ljut near the hamlet Bacic. One of the Serbian survivors, testify about the horrific rhythm of the crimes and echoes of the dead human bodies that were lost in the depths of the pit. After the bodies also dogs and cats were thrown into the pit to feed of the bodies and complete the job. After that, the pit was filled with garbage. The testimony of cavers who, after two months of taking out the remains of human bodies, are more than disturbing.
The pits of hell, symbol of human extermination in a most beasty way, and its done by the Croats against the Serbian people the second time in fifty years of this century. The same chords of death echoed in a nearby cave before Mratovska pit fifty-one years ago. This is not possible to forgive nor forget. But the story does not end here. The few and helpless prisoners are tried on the spot. The judgments are clear, some to be hang by military belt, some to get a bullet in the head. All this is recorded on video tape and is viewed in Sibenik as a kind of horrorfilm.
In addition Croatian radio station Split, in the manner of final cynicism, broadcast names of the killed Serbian soldiers to the sound of the Serbian national anthem with every possible insult added to it.
Two months after the aggression against Miljevački plateau, the authorities allowed the international expert team to approach the corpses of the Serbs. Identification lasted two months, and despite the most advanced methods, twelve bodies remained unidentified. Pain of the families of their loved ones was immeasurable.
