During WW2, the only place in Europe having special camps for children was Croatia. From Dec. 1941 to April 1942 In Croatia and in Jasenovac in particular, the ustasha killed 19 000 children of which the identity is known and later confirmed.
The children were killed in the most un-imagineable and brutal ways. Ustasha woulld bring a group of children to the river Sava, put a couple of them in a bag and tie the bag to the rest of the children, and then throw the bag into the river. Many got their throats slit and lots were burned alive in the brickfactory-oven.
"Witnesses recount seeing an Ustasha soldier pick up a child by the legs and smash its head against a wall until it was dead, ..."
One of a very few survivors, Milan Bastasic from Grubisno Polje, describing his stay in and rescue from the camp of death in his book "Bilogora i Grubisno Polje 1941. - 1991."
......Vjekoslav "Max" Luburić, the commander-in-chief of all the Croatian camps, announced the great "efficiency" of the Jasenovac camp at a ceremony as early as October 9, 1942. During the banquet which followed, he reported with pride: "We have slaughtered here at Jasenovac more people than the Ottoman Empire was able to do during its entire occupation of Europe"........
The Ustasha are now joining in with the rest of the Nazi Holocaust denials and great deal of money is used to rewrite history and try to minimise these horrible crimes in the DEATH Camps of Jasenovac. Whatever they try to do and whatever number they try to reach with their history revision. The crime against these CHILDREN alone is evidence enough of the horrible genocide commited by the USTASHA - regime during WW2.
Jasenovac (one of a million stories)
Franciscan executioner Miroslav Filipovic-Majstorovic, had the support of other priests in Jasenovac death camp, namely priests Brkljacic, Matkovic, Matijevic, Brekalo, Pcelina, Vipovac, who competed in killing more Serbs. Only one Franciscan priest, Pero Brzica, slaughtered 1350 inmates during one night in Jasenovac death camp.
The account of this event was given by Zile Friganovic, who claimed that he was the bloodiest ustashe in Jasenovac:”Franciscans Pero Brzica, Ante Zrinusic-Sipka and me, made a bet on who will kill more inmates in one night. The slaughter began and after one hour I was well ahead of all the rest by the number of the slaughtered.
Some unusual delirium came over me that night, I felt like in seventh heaven. I never felt such bliss in my whole life. After several hours, I managed to kill 1.100 people, while others killed only 300-400 people. By chance, at the hight of my delirium, I took one glance on the side, and I saw one peasant man who was rather old.
He watched me slaughter my victims and witnessing them dying in pain, with some incomprehensible peace. His look struck me, I felt like I was petrified, and I lost the delirium feeling. I couldn’t move couple of seconds. Then I approached him, and he told me that his name is Vukashin, from Klepci village near Capljina, and ustashe killed all his family. He was sent to Jasenovac death camp, for some forest works.
He was saying that with some inconceivable peace that struck me more than all horrifying cries around me. Suddenly, I got the flaming desire to break his peace and serenity by fiercest torture, and to restore my bliss in killing people by watching his pain. I singled him out and sat him down on one stump. I ordered him to yell “Long live fuhrer Pavelic” or I will cut off his ear.
Vukashin was silent. I CUT OFF HIS EAR. He didn’t say a word. I told him again, yell “Long live to fuhrer Pavelic” or I will cut off the other ear. He was silent again. I cut the other ear. “Yell “Long live Pavelic, or I will cut off your nose. When I ordered him to yell “long live Pavelic” for the fourth time or I will rip his heart out, he looked at me, as if he looked trough me into uncertainty, and said calmly and clearly:
”Just do your job, child”.
These words of his made me go completely wild. I jumped at him, gouged out his eyes, rip his heart out, slashed his throat all the way from one ear to another, and pushed him into the whole by my legs. But, then something broke inside of me, and I couldn’t kill anyone else that night. Franciscan Pero Brzica won, by killing 1.350 camp inmates. I paid the agreed bet, without a word”.

I am the author of Jasenovac Then & Now: A Conspiracy of Silence (1997) The Jasenovac Concentration Camp of WWII Croatia has been nicknamed by historians as the “Auschwitz of the Balkans.” Reader needs to be reminded that hundreds of thousands of Serbs were slaughtered in their fields, on the thresholds of their houses and burned to death inside their churches. In the village of Vojnic in 1941, 97 Serbs were locked inside their Serbian church and burned to the ground. 17 of those victims were my relatives. Most Serbs were murdered by their own neighbors who were encouraged to kill by Roman Catholic priests who led the genocide of over one million victims. Jasenovac, as researched in my book that includes first-person testimonies from eye witnesses and some of the 87 survivors and German sources reveals that the real number of victims at Jasenovac is over 600,000. In an adjoining camp specifically for Serbian children under the age of ten years, over 90,000 were put to death by Catholic nuns who uses poison to save bullets.
After Hitler brought Ante Pavelic to power in 1941, Pavelic created 34 “summary” courts throughout Croatia. He empowered every Croatian to arrest and kill Serbians without being charged with a crime. Any Croat could sit on these “courts,” including former convicts who issued arrest warrants and passed out death sentences. Mobile courts roamed the countryside in which Serbs were arrested, tried, convicted and hanged-within hours of their capture. Numerous photographs of this period show thousands of Serb victims hanging from trees and lamp posts throughout Croatia and Bosnia. Not a single person was brought to justice for these crimes against humanity. it is paramount that we do not over-emphasize Jasenovac, as the vast majority of Serbian victims in the Holocaust were eliminated without being prisoners of any death camp, and were spared the grotesque deaths at camps like Jasenovac where victims were bludgeoned to death to save bullets, or worse, slowly dismembered to the pleasure of their tormentors.
In August 1995 during Operation Storm when 250,000 Serbs were ethnically cleansed from Croatia thanks to the US military who aided and abetted the Croats in perpetrating the single larges ethnic cleansing in these Balkan wars. The U.S. shut of the radar and enabled the Croats to bomb and strafe fleeing refugees, a war crime for which no Croat has been charged. The last 5 remaining relatives of my name were too old and too sick to flee Operation Storm and a month later I was notified by the Red Cross that they were found with their throats slit. Therefore, I am a double victim of Balkan genocide for which no one is being charged.
In 1978 when I was in Croatia I photographed the ruins of the Serbian church in which 17 of my relative were murdered. In 1995, Franjo Tudjman bulldozed those ruins along with bulldozing the remains of Jasenovac and its adjoining museum to destroy the evidence of the hideous genocide that no one wants to discuss today. More Serbs were killed per capita in Serbia then what the 6 million killed Jews represents, as those Jews were gathered from 7 countries.
The change in body count at Jasenovac after the Sakic trial is appalling when my book and other historical documents clearly reveal that over 700,000 Serbs were killed at Jasenovac along with 40,000 Jews and 70,000 Roma. Rewriting history has been a well honed skill by the Croats and the Vatican. I am the Plaintiff in the class action case against the Vatican bank to recover the tens of millions of dollars that were stolen from the Serbs, sent to the Vatican Bank who then moved that money to Swiss banks and on to Argentina where over 700 Roman Catholic priests from Croatia fled after the war to escape justice. That money was used to keep those priest in a well sponsored life style for the rest of their lives.
Ante Pavelic fled Croatia for Argentia through the Vatican “Ratline” and became the security advisor to Juan Peron who issued 34,000 visas to Croatian war criminals, all of who escaped justice. Therefore, Jasenovac is very important because of the conspiracy of silence that I reveal in my book, but it is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to how comfortable we made the Nazi after the war.
