Witness: “Sahit Jasari and Sabit Geci, used a chainsaw to behead a Serbian policeman, Ivan Bulatovic, in June 1998.”
Ivan Bulatovic was a police officer in Glogovac and his wife worked in the same department of internal affairs as a hygiene medical officer. They had three little children and their permanent residence was in Glogovac itself. He had a daughter from his first marriage aged 17. She died and he had to go to Pec because he wanted to attend the funeral.
He told his chief, Petar Damjanac that he was going to Pec, Petar warned him that terrorists were holding the road from Pec to Pristina. It was very risky. Ivan said that he was going to travel by train and there had been no incidents on the railroad until then. He set out by train to Pec with his wife and smaller children. When they were returning from the funeral, May 23, 1998. the terrorists entered the train and started to check identification of the passengers. Ivan feared the worst and gave his gun to his wife to hide. The terrorists called him by first and last name and told him to surrender. They ordered him out of the coupe. He was the only one to be taken out from the train, his wife, children, and the other passengers watched him being beaten by rifle-butts.
They brought him to a prison in Likovac, where they beat him and did all sorts of vicious things to him and kept him in a kennel. He was chained like a dog there and they forced him whenever passed by to bark. He was also frequently walked to a village square by Sahit Jasari for people to beat him in public.
Sometime in June 1998, Sahit Jasari and Sabit Geci “took the chainsaw and beheaded Bulatovic with it. Then Geci made some deep cuts into Bulatovic’s chest, thigh and legs,” according to the witness
Ivan Bulatovic is still on record as a missing person.
During the time period from January 1st to October 31st, 1998, the Albanian terrorists committed, in the territory of the AP of Kosovo and Metohija, a total of 872 attacks against the facilities of the police and the police, or 58.2% of the total number.
